Scientists have already discovered this crazy thing called penicillin, its like a super power spore against bacteria! In 1943, the United States government saw this as a crazy good opportunity to help their soldiers in the war, deciding to start mass production.
Impact?
It hugely progressed the state of medicine, allowing doctors to perscribe penicillin for bacterial infections, which have taken the lives of many. By producing penicillin in the war, they had lots of it; by the end of 1944, they were commercially available!
